Reverse Shoulder Replacements: Size Matters

This is some new research I helped with available via early online publication from Clinical Biomechanics regarding sizing prostheses in reverse shoulder arthroplasty. Essentially the bottom line that we found was that it is very important for the treating surgeon to account for different morphologies of the patient when implanting a shoulder. Sometimes it can be too easy to just apply a one size fits all mentality when we clearly aren’t all the same! This is clearly relevant when looking across gender differences as on average men will have larger bones then women, and therefore we would expect would need larger prosthesis as well.
